Mrs. McComb entertained her sister on Monday. Miss Mary Taylor visited in Chelsea Wednesday. Mr. Sales was in Pinckney on business Thursday. Dora Wall is the owner of a fine nevs Monarch safety. T. Birkett entertained friends the iirst oï the week. James Gallagher now rides a new Imperial bicycle. Miss Myrta Taylor entertained frieuds on Suuday. James Rowe and wife entertainec friends last Sunday. Mis. H. Raywalt has moved into hei residence on C street, Wm. F. Smith spent Sunday with his cousins in Hudson. Mrs, Sears spent the last of the week vvith Piuckney friends. Miss Amelia Clark and sister spen Tuesday in Aun Arbor. Mr. Thompson made his Hudson friends a cali on Monday. Dr. II. F. Sigler, of Pinckney, made us a pleasant call Tuesday. W. Smith and B. Hopkins spent one day oL last week in Chelsea. Miss Kyer, of Ann Arbor, has beei visiting here for a few days. W. B. Huiit, of Lansing, Was the guest ot his cousin last week. James McCabe and sister. Miss Kate spent. Saturday in Ann Arbor. Mrs. S. Devine and children. of Ann Arbor are visiting her parents. The pickle factory at Pinckney i being torn down and removed. Mrs. Garry Briggs is spending a few days in Ypsilanti visiting friends. Mrs. John McCabe enteriained hei grandchildreu Saturday and Sunday Omar Mooie and family are now located on Huron street in Ann Arbor Mrs. John Schieferstein, of Chelsea spent last week with her sons at the farm. Elmer Mains, of Detroit, was called here to attend his cousin's funeral last week . I. Terry and daughter, Mrs. C. Yalentine, spent the past week in Kalamazoo. Memorial services vvill be held in the opera house next Suhday by Rev. F. E. ?earce. Misses Olga Jedele and Minnie Reider spent Suuday with Ann Arbor 'rienda. Silas Thrasher and wife entertained ;heir grand-daughter from Aun Arbor ■ecently. Frank Carpenter. wife and family pent last Suaday with her parents in Webster. Miss Blanche Waite has been visitng at her grandparents, Wm. Arnold and wife. Chas. Morris and wife enjoyed a 'isit from Brighton relatives the first f the week. Rev. J. Brown, of Canada, spent the ast few days with his niany friends n this place. Mis. F. Melyin, of Pinckney, has one to Iowa to join her husband where hey intend to locate. Benjamin Culy left Monday for Mt. bemens to take a course of mineral baths for rheumatism. Dr. R. S. Copeland and wife, of Bay City, made his parents a short visit uring the past week. Mrs. M. H. Hoey and children, of Chicago, are visiting her mother and 'arnily for a few weeks. Kaiser Wheeler is making prepara.ions to erect a new house on the farm ie purchased recently. John Dorkins and wife, of Marión, pent one day of the past week with riends in this vicinity. Miss Phebe Newton is recovering from injuries received by falling on the stairs last Tuesday. Moon officiating. Considerable damage was done in ;his yicinity by the heavy rains and a number of fruit trees destroyed by the wind. E. Campbell, wife and daughter, liss Lydia, and B. Hudson, wife and on, of Hudson, were Sunday guests of heir parents in the village. The grasshoppers have made their ippearance in this section, and it is eared they will do great damage to he growing crops as they have come so early.
