Now that vacation is approaching it is of interest to know those among the members of the Faculty who wil! go to Europe this year. A Daily reporter has been going the rounds with the following results: Prof. J. E. Reighard and family will sail on the Waesland, Red Star line, June 20. Will .settle at Freiburg in Baden for 9 months. They will spend some time time studying in the celebrated laboratory at Naples. Their trip will occupy 15 months. Prof. Paul C. Freer and wife leave June i to be gone until Oct. 1. He sails for Montreal by the Beaver line to England, then through Holland to Germany. They will attend the musical festival at Baireuth. Most of his time will be spent at Munich, and he will return by way of Switzerland. Prof. E. L. Walter, of the French department, will make a short trip, spending most of his time in Paris and returning in time for the opening of college in the fall. He has no detailed plan. Dr. V. C. Vaughan and family will leave about August i for Budapest, the capitol of Hungary, where Dr. Vaughan is to give an address on the "Hygiëne of Drinking Water" before the International Congress of Hygiëne. He will back by October ist. Dr. Novy was not interviewed but he expects to attend the same congress. Mr. Effinger leaves June 20 in company with Mr. Dow. He will spend two months in Paris, travel through Swit.erland into Germany, and will return by way of England in time for beginning of work ia the fall. Mr. Dow will take a wheel with him and spend most of his time in Germany. Prof. Stanley leaves July 4, going to Munich, Leipsic, and then to Baireuth to attend the great Wagner Festival. It is not yet decided whether his wife and daughter will accompany him. Dr. A. S. Warthin, demonstrator of clinical medicine, leaves about June i, to pursue some special work in the large hospital on the continent. Prof. Schmall, of the School of Music also expects to go but it was impossible to learn his plans. Mrs. John Dewey has already gone and Prof. Dewey will sail sometime in January. President Keech, of the board of public works, brought a box of cigars up'to the meeting of the board, Wednesday night, in honor of his re-election.
