Miss Myrta Fellows, of Saline, is visiting friends iu town. G. Schwab spent a few days Adrián visiting her daughter, Mrs. V Kern. The last week has been so very warm that teachers and scholars long to vacation. Miss Paulina and Ernst Wurster, o Ann Arbor, spent Simday in town vis iting friends' Miss Mae Aylesworth elosed th spring term of school in the McMaho district last Friday. A number of children and grow people are sick with the measles, au the doctors are kept busy. Strawberries seem tobe quite plentiful tliis jear. Tbey were sold tor ten cents a quart last ïuesday. George Nisle and wife went to Ilill.sdale last Saturday to attend the funeral of lier brotlier, Mr. Zang. Last Saturday was a lively da.y, so many farmers canie in with wool. II. Kirchhofer took in 17,00u pounds. Wednesday evening t ii Epworfcl League had t social at tlie home o Mies Iaabelle Milieu, which waslargeli attended. Saturday the high school and teachers had a picnic at Wampier's latee. It was a beautiful day and all repon ha ving had a very pleasant time. Last Sunday the morning the Children's Day exercises were held at the M. E. church. The children did nicely and there was a good attendance. Mis. Rev. Yokem went to Ann Arbor last weck. where she will receive medical treatment. Mi'. Yokein drove to Ann Arbor Moiulay to stay a few days. Messrs. N. Schniid, Wm. Lehr, N. Senger and J. Miller went to Battie Creek Tuesdsy to attend the couventionof the Germán Workingmen Aid society. While trying to kill a rattle snake, Bert, Servia, of Sharon, was bitten on the hand. He was brought to Lynclfs ónice, wnere jjis. -Lyricn anü unimger did all they could to relieve him of the intense pain. He is getting along as well as can be expected. Sunday evening. June 17, the Kev. Dr. Floyd, of Grand Kapids, will preach the baccalaureate address to the graduates. Promotion exercises wiil be held at the school Thursday morning. The distribution of badges will also take place. Forty-five have neither been absent nor tardy daring the year. Last Saturday afternoon the remains of Mis. Anna Dickinson were brought to this place for burial. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon. For many years Mrs. Dickerson was a resident of this place. About four years ago she aioved to Ypsilanti, but on account of poor health she went to Jackson to live with her daughter, Mrs. B. Hill. For a number of years she was troubled with a cáncer," although so great a suffeier she was cheerful and patiënt. She was a member of the M. E. church ;irul leaves a large circle of friends to Uiuurn her loss. J-ast bínubo The nrst anniversary oí the Christiau Endeavor Society, ol Emanuelchurcli, took place. In the atteinoon the Junior League had a meeting it which Rev. Irvvin, of Freedom, and Rev. Schreiber, of Saline, mude an address. In the evening the Christiau Endeavor held a meeting, and Rev. BuJlock, president of the society for Washtenaw county, spoke. Also Revs. Yokotn, of this place, and J. Neumann, of Ann Arbor, made a few remaiks. About 2-5 young people of Ann Arbor and 15 of jaekson attended the meeting.
