Pittsfield

A good deal of roadmaking is now in progress in this township. John Harwood was married last week to Miss Libbie Stevens, al] of Pittsfleld. Sneep shearing is mostly finished. There are not as tnany sneep in Pitts■ field as in years past. Wheat and oats are fair crops this season. Corn is backward; a good deal of it not up yet. Tlie hay erop will not be as large as last year. The apple orchards have a new eneniy in the shape of a worm which strips the trees of their leaves. A good many orchards in this town are badly damaged by them.
