Saginaw, June 11.- baturday morning Parsons was again on the stand for cross-exainination. He was asked only a few questions and the answers developed uothing particularly new. The defense then rested their case, with the privilege of introducing other testimony later if they chose. The prosecution then corninenced their rebuttal teetimony. After several witnesses had testified Fred Knight was called and denied having seen the package which he received in Grand Rapids until the time when it was delivered to hitu there. He had never made any statement in front of Parsons' house that he had forgotten a package. nor did he go to his door early in the morning and teil Parsons he hail a package to leave in his charge. He had heard the defendaut reen il the contents of a certain letter suppos d to have been written by him, bnt ii lied ever having written such a letter. In the cross-examinatiou he said that he could not remenibar wliere he had slept Sunday nitrlit. EVb. 25. He did recall, huwever, beiug in severrl plHies on that night. Miss Fallón was recalled to the Btml. Slie reiuembered a letter shown her by AUumtíj kuoie nul said it was the bame slie had written to Mr. Knight on April 7. sending it in care of Parsous. The letter was here offered in evidence. Mrs. Helen Scheib was then called. and reinembered a fire on the morning of April 5. This same morning she saw Parsons board an early car for the east side. She had seen him another morning of this same week board a car with a parcel under his arm, but could not fix the exact date. After hearing the testimony of Mrs. Scheib the prosecution announced they had no other witnesses and rested their case. Court ieas then adjourned until this mornmg at 9 o'clock.
