Cadillac has its hands full taking care of acarlet fever patients. Six cases were reported by its health officer in one day last week. At West Windsor, near Eaton Rapids, the young son of Mr. Gersenheiter, while out harrowiiiK sonie corn with a 3-horse team, was kieked by one of the horses so badly that it is thought he will die. A poundinaster's lot is not always a happy one. The poundmaster of Trenton tried to lock up a cow belonging to a Polish woman and, instead, came near being locked up himself, she chasing him down an alley while the cow escaped. The woman was fined $5 for assault and battery. The danger of allowing a horse to eat and drink indiscriminately was forcibly illustrated at Cadillac one day last week. E. Baker gave a valuable4-year-old grcrand feed and afterward allowed it to drink freely of cold water. A postmortem examination disclosed the fact tbat the horse's stpmach had buret.
