Scarlet fever is quite prevalent in and around Leónidas. The milk station at Belleville is receiving 4,1)00 pounds of milk per da-y. The annual convention of the Association of St. Joseph Valley Baptist churches wiü be held at Uniou City, June H and 15. Minden City wants electric lights and would like to bond the village for the necessary amount to procure that luxury. All the gambling house in the Soo have been closed by Marshal Arnot and the sports themselves ordered to leave town. ' The dead body of an unknown man was fouud lying in the highvvay just south of the viilage of Sherwood Sunday eyening. The Soldiers' and Sailors' association of Brauch county will hold their aunual reunión at Union City on Thursday, June 14. Mrs. Wesley Woodry, an estimable Imlay City lady, died Sunday, aged about 28 years. She left a husbaud and uwo children. The Prohibition party of Michigan will hold a state couvention in the auditorium of the Young Men's Christian association, in the city of Kalamazoo, at 11 o'clock a. m.. Weduesday, Aug. S, 1894, for the purpose of placing in nomiuation candidates for state offices.
