Detroit. June 19. - A sad and j rible death occurred in the wholesale j drug establishment of Williams, Davis, Brooks & Company, 26 and 28 Congress street east. The victim of some unknown accident ie Thomas Barfoot, a I young man 19 years oíd. He was in charge of the elevator and not a soul in the place aruong the crowd of employés can give an inteiligible account of how it happened. The only bit of substantia) ïnrormation that could be 1 obtaiued was taat John Anger, a i ster, was backing up a load of acid to the elevator, when he heard a crash, and, looking around, saw the body of the boy in the bottom of the elevator shaft. He gave the alarm at once and James E. Davis, the manager, was inforined of the accident. A doctor connected with the firm examined the body, but found that life was extinct. It is assumed that the young man feil from the fifth floor, as the elevator was stationary there.
