Mrs. Stickie, of l'utnam. spent Monclay in this place. Mrs. Schermerhorn entertained her mother last week. P. MeCabe, of Arm Arbor. is visiting at his old home. Thomas McQuillan was at South Lyon last Saturday. Chas. Warner and Artie Arnold were in l'inekney, Sunday. Ice cream soda is now served at L. L. James1 drug store. Business called F. Boyden, of Delhi, was in this vicinity buying wood the past week. Chas. Dwyer. of Ann Arbor, was greeting old friends here on Friday. Mr. Joseph McGuinness and sons were Chelsea visitors last Thursday. Miss Gertie Chamberlain, of Fosters, will spend the summer in this place. Miss Frankie Cushing was home from her school at Ypsilanti overr Sunday. Miss Mary Cope returned to her home in Ypsilanti the rirst of the week. Miss Kate MeCabe, returned home Wednesday, after a ten days stay at Wayne. John L. Smith and wife entertained a number of their friends at tea on Monday. Benjamin Crossley, of Webberviïïe, spent Wednesday and Thursday with his aunt. Mrs. Clarenee McComb and son, of Ohio is spending the week with relatives here. Mrs. John Gallagher was the guest of her many friends in Ann Arbor on Vednesday. Mrs. II. D. Mowers and daugliter, Miss Edna, spent Friday at the University City. Chas Rockwell and wif'e. oí Fosters, pent Sunday with their daughter,Mrs. íames Rowe. Geo. Vinkle is repainting tbe farm house and barns of Charles Stickie near Pinckney. Miss Lizzie Deckert is home after spending several months with her many friends in Detroit and other eastern cities. Mrs. Van Etta and Miss Austin entertained the Willing Workers' Society of the Congregational church Wednesday afternoon. Frank Spooner, of Albion, formerly of this place was united in marriage last Wednesday evening to Miss Belle VanSyckle, of Plainfield. The annual meeting of the Dexter Village Cemetery Corporation for the ensuing year will be held at the office of Geo. C. Page Saturday afternoon, June 23. 1894. Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Shehan have returned from their wedding trip to Auburn, N. Y., and have been spending a few days with friends before leaving for their new home at Hamburg. This evening the commencement of the Dexter High school will be given at the opera house. The class this year comprises the following young ladies: Misses Laura Lyon, Margaret McGuinness, Alma Lyon, Jessie Phelps and Florence Schaberley.
