Want A Woman Professor

A petition is being circulated and largely signed by the seniors and gradaatesof the University of Michigan, asking.-that in future appointments women be given representa tion among the professors and instructors. This is not a plea that women as women be put on the facolty, but that the students be given the opportunity of that broad education which can be obtained only from cultured and able teachers of both sexes. Women nave already been given places in the faculties of the University of Chicago, Missouri, Kansas and Iowa, with most gratifying results and it is hoped that Michigan will soon follow their lead. Certainly the agitation has begun and points to important results.
