Miss Alta Sheldon, of Three Kivers, is visiting her friend, Mis Margaret B losser. Miss Marie Wilson. of Weston, is visitiug at Mrs. ï. L. Iddings. Rev. Floyd, of Grand Rapids, gave a splendid addresa to the graduating class at the Emanuel church last Sunday evening. Qromotion exercises were held at Union school building Thursday morning. 122 were neither absent nor tardy during the term. and 45 pupils received badges for the year. The school had but two tardy marks for the term and enrolled 340 pupiis. Miss Lizzie Burns is visiting friends u town. Monday Mrs. Burns and aughters start for Idaho for their fu,ure home. Their many friends reret to see theiu go but wish them sucess. A very pretty reception was given to he Grammar room pupils by their eacher, Miss Marie Kirchhofer, last Thursday evening. The literary program was nicely executed. The lawn was decorated with lanterns, colored lights. etc. The pupils presented Miss Kirchhofev with a handsome silver bonbon dish. The evening will long be rernembered by both pupils and teacher. Miss Vera Perkins, of Toledo, is visiting relatives and friends in town. H. U. Kies, of the Orchard Lake military academy, came home tospend his vacation with his parents. Walter C Mack, of Ann Arbor,spent most of the week in town on business. August Nisle, of Ann Arbor, SDent Sunday with his parents. "Have you had the measles ? " is the question now asked by old and young. Á great many are still quite sick with them. ! Miss Annetta Kingsley entertained some of her friends at her home last Tuesday evening. Mrs. R. C. Miller. of Toledo, is visiting her father and sisters, and will siag at the commencement exercises. Miss Julia Kirchhofer closes a very suecessful term of school in thePierce district, Friday. Miss Nettie Rowe visited friends in towu a few days of last week.
