Detroit. Jnne 28. - George Scott, who runs a rooming house at 00 Wayne street, was stabbed six times about 8:35 last night, by Jacob Singer, aged 34, employed by Dr. Maclean as a coachnian. The injured man was sitting in a chair in front of the house, talking to a carpenter, when Singer passed and bumped into him. The two had some words, and Singer, who had been drinking, wanted to fight. He walked on a short distance, and then turned back, as though he was going to whip the carpenter. The latter ran away, and Singer walked up to Scott and ainied a blow at his face with a long-bladed knite. Scott threw up his lef t arm to ward off the blow and he caught it on his left shoulder. Singer then stabbed his victim five times aud ran into an alley. where he hid. He was arrested by Patrolman Stenton, Vorpagel and Feiitnn. Scott was attended by Dr. Warren, who found that the wound in his left shoulder was four inches long and two deep. He was also stabbed in the abdomen, left groin and three times in the back, though none of the wounds are dangerous.
