UIKCIKNATI, July m.-A uiost unusual afiair attracted hundreds to St. Pbilomena's Catholic church ou East Pearl street. A servant girl in the eruploy of the priest went into the cellar under the church and found a big negro lying on the coal. The girl screamed and the negro ran into a yard and upstairs into the attic. The girl' cries attracted a big crowd, and two policemen went in the church to arrest him. A complete nearcb was made and the fellow finally located in a dark corner. A man named Muilen, who was with the pólice, discovered himlyingon a beam and threw a stone, which bit the negro and knocked him off. Jumping to hie feet he fired several shots and made for tne belfry door. He rushed in and down the Bteps to the choir loft, jumped iorty feet to the floor below, sprang up and ran in a door leadintf to the teeple, up which he diaappeared and remained hid in its height, f ully 200 feet above the earth. He will be starved out.
