More Battles Fought
Yokohama, Aug. 9.- Additional battles have been iouglit between Japanese and the Chinese, and the latt.er have been defeated. Seikoan has been taken by the Japanese with triĆ¼ing loss. The Chinese in this engagument lost 500 killed. The euemy fled iu the direction o( Koshiu. The Japanese are in possession of Yashan. An imperial ordnance just iasued permits ' Chinese to reside in Japan on condition that they engage in peaceful pursuits. The greatest excitement prevails here, , at Tokio and other large towns as a ' sult oL the victor es of the Japanese [ troops. Kumors, however, are cutrent here, that the Japanese naval forces have been defeated i n an engagement with Chinese warships.
