Chicago, Aug. 11.- Quo-wari-anto proceedings were begun by tbe attoraey general of tbe state again3t the Pullman Palace Car company. Attoruey General Moloney appeared íq the office of the clerk oL I he circuit court and filed a petition in quo-warranto agaiust the big concern which has been enjoying so much promiuence in the public view of late. The legal document filed asks leave to file an information in the nature of quo-warranto proceedings. This is the first step in an attack by the state's chief law officer on the charter of a corporation. The next step will be to ask the company to show cause why its charter shall not be revoked. The defendant Corporation is charged with illegnlly owning a controlling interest in the Allen Paper Car Wheel company and with wrongfuüy exercising the powers oL a municipal corporation in furnishing dwellings, light, water, heat and provisionsto tbc residen ts of Pullman.
