Business is picking up in tliis vicinity. C. M. Fuller spent Sunday in Aun Arbor. Mr. and Mrs. Horton, of Saline, visited Milán friends, Saturday. H. C. Markham and wife spent Sunday vvith Attorney and Mrs. G. R. Williams. Miss M. Murray left for New York City, Monday, wíiere she will take a boat for England, Wednesday. She intends remaining abroad a year. J. C. Rouse and wife leít for St. Clair, Friday. Messrs. C. T. and C. H. Hill and their families returned Mouday morning trom a two weeks' sojourn at Big Portacre lake. Mrs. Pyle left Monday morning for Niágara Falls. Mrs. O. P. Newcomb and son, ot Garitón, are the guests of J. Bernap and wife. Mrs, F. A. Blinn and son, of Stony Creek, are the guests of Mrs. H. A. Vincent. Mrs. Chas. Sill gave au interesting tea to a few friends Thursday p. m. Mrs. G. R. Williams entertained guests from Chicago, Tuesday. Miss Sarah Wheaton left for Ann Arbor, Tuesday morning. E. Hinkley and wife returned Fri ay frorn their Adriau sojourn. Mr. Charles Weller, of Chicago, neached at the Union church, Sunday nomina:. Miss Lelia Kelley has returned from ïer Ohio visit. Mis. Whittnarsh and son, left for Grand Rapids, Tuesday morning. Jessie Holcomb has returned from ïer Detroit visít. Mrs. Harris, of Adrián, is visiting Milau friends. Mrs. Kellsev is seriously ill. Üna Clork is eutertaining guests from Detroit. Mrs. M C. Edwards is taking orders and delivering goods for J. L.Marble's ajrocery house. Miss Reeves, of Azalia, is the guest of her sister, Mrs. Chas. Bill. Several new side walks have been put down in Milan and still there are more to follow. M. C. Edwards will have one of the finest residences here when lt is completed. There are several new wells being put down in the village. Mr. Young's well is 130 feet, and Mr. Draper's well, on West Main street, is nearly 100 feet and thev are still at work on it. The B. Y. P. U. had a rally Sunday eveuing at the Baptist church. The Washtenaw Co. president and a number of the B. Y. P. U. of the Ypsilanti Church were in attendauce. The meeting was au enthusiastic one and the report from the Toronto convention was given in an interesting marnier b} Pres. Chas. Smith, of Ypsilanti. The niusic was fine and a deep interest was shown through the entire meeting.
