Mrs. Henderson, a colored wornan living on Broadway, north side, estiraated that last night she had lived as long as she thought she ought to, and she attempted to give effect to her judgment in a strange manner. She swallowed a big dose of turpentine. Alarm was given by Mrs. Henderson's daughter, and Dr. Breakey being called to the scène, introduced agencies that put a stop to the business, and Mrs. Henderson Uves. The cause of this strange attempt at suicide is not learned.
