The habit of watching around for a chance to teil the truth when a lie will serve the purpose better, received a serious set back in Justice Pond's court, Tuesday. Joseph Wilson had been arrested and received a sentence of two days in jail tor vagrancy, he having been begging about the city. His departure frorn the house of Fred Wurster was attended with the disappearance of a pair of shoes, but as their absence could not be charged to Wilson, on proof, he was not sentenced for that. While in jail, however, he admitted taking the foot gear a,nd explained to Officer Schall where they could be found. Schall found them where the truthful tramp said he would. Tuesday he was invited to a second interview with Justice Pond, who furnished him with a pass to that industrial exposition known as the D. H. C. The pass is good for 60 days.
