Sheriff Brenner, of Ann Arbor, was in Miran, Mouday. Mis. J. Lockwood has returned from her visiting tour. Mrs. Steidle bas returned from her Ohio visit. Mrs. H. A. Vincent visited friends in Stony Oreek the flrst of the week. Miss Carrie McGregor is teaching at Stony Creek. C. M. Fuller will commence his schooll duties in the Lewis district on Monday. Mr. Hafford and wife have returned from their summor sojourn at Manistique. Mrs. Blinn, of Stouy Creek, was the guest of Mrs. G. R. Williams last week. Mrs. Whitmarah and brother returned Wednesday from their Grand liapids visit. Rev. J. 8 windt is quite Hl, and tiieie were no services at the Presbyterian clmrch, Sunday. Mrs. A. B. Smith is visiting friends at Ypsilanti. The Milan I. O. O. F. 's playecl base bali against the Dexter I. O. O. F.'s at Dexter, Monday. Score 9 to 28 in favor of Dexter. The Milan boys are quite mum. Miss Cady, of Hersey, arrived Friday in Milan. Wm. Iloyt and wife were the guests of their daughter, Mrs. H. Sill, Sunday. Miss Lena Blinn, who was the guest of Mrs. C. M. Fuller last week, left for Detroit, Saturday. Mrs. McGregor is quite ill. Mr. and Mrs. A. Holcomb, entertained guests from Detroit last week. Mrs. Kelsey left for her home in Tecutnseh, Monday. Bev, J. Ward Stone is entertaining ! guests from New York City. Several rain storms in the last few days has revived vegetation. Kev. Geo. Cady, of Benton Harbor, and Att'y Alva Cadv, of Ann Arbor. were the guests of their sisters at Mi A. Palmer's, Monday. Mrs. L. Coe has returned from her Detroit sojourn. Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Reynolds have returned to their home in Detroit. Mrs. C. Chapin is elected as delégate to the Grand Chapter of the Eastera Star to convene at Grand Rapirts in October. Died, on Sunday, Earl Pepper, oldest sou of Mr. and Mrs. O. Pepper. Funeral services were held at the f'am, ily residence on First street, Tuesdaya. in., Rev. J. Ward Stowe officiating. Prof. Koester's Musicale, Friday evening, was a grand success. All of the numbers being well rendered. The audience were enthusiastic and their were several responses to enchores. The Eastern Star Chapter, eleeted the following offlcer at their last meet ing: Worthy matron, Mrs. O. Chapin; worthy patrón, Mrs. A. B. Smith; associate matron, Mrs. E. Ford; secretary, Mrs. F. Debenham; treasurer, Mrs. E. Pyle; conductress, Mrs. J. Forsythe.
