While talking about horses the other day au old farmer said: "Well, I'm a pretty good judge of horses and eau always tellwhether a horse is short â– winded or not. "Before I buy a horse, " he continued, "I just borrowitfor about an hour or so, and then I get out on sorne lonely road and see what kind of stuff he is made of. "I first let him choose his owu gait for a couple of mile posts and fmally give him plenty of rein, making him go for all he is worth. All the time I just keep my eye on his haunches, and if I see any rotary motion there it's a sign he's thick winded, and of course every one knows that kind ain't mach good. "
