Stolen fruit was eaten freely. In the inidst oí the featt a detactied party o jokers rushed iu from the side and opened lire with guns and revolvers. AU the shots vvere fired in the air, but the frightened boys expected to be killed, and fled peil mell in every directiou. All escaped but Ferdinand E:cabrecht, aged 18, who stambled over a log, feil into the mili poad and w,is drowned.
