It was about the size of a walnut and would flash in a bríghc and singular way when held to the light. Not nntil she had quite grown up and the candle stone had been lost ioryearsdid anyof them realize that i6 wa3 a diamond of doubtless immense value. Thé Kimberley mines were in the unknown future, but this stone had perhaps been washed down by some torreuc or brought by other chance f rom that región.
