With feelings of deep veneration and respect for Michigan's "grand old man," the Argus hails and congratulates Gov. Alpheus Felch, on this his nintieth birthday. Long may he yet live, anexampleof wellpreserved inteilectual and mental vigor, an illustration of "the survival of the fittest" in the best sense of the term. This evening the banquet in honor ot Gov. Felch will take place at the Coolc House. The committee on arrangements, Messrs. Sawyer, Lawrence, Thripson Kearney and Babbitt, have completed all necessary arrangements, and many prominent men will be present. Among those who have indicated their purpose to personally honor Gov. Felch are Hon. T. W. Palmer, ExGov. D. H. Jerome, Gen. Alger and Senator Jones, of Iowa. The Senator is already over ninety years old and was the first delégate to Congress for the territory of Mich igan and Wisconsin. Ex-Senator Jones was the contemporary of Gov. Felch in the United States Senate. Ex-Senator Bradbury, of Maine, now also ninety years of age, had designed to be present but will not be able to do so, but has written a letter which will be read at the banquet. Ex-senator Jones will be one of the speakers of the banquet. Judge Kinne will be the toastmaster. The banquet will begin at 8 o'clock.
