Gallup Park To Be "Rock" Concert Site
Saturday June 7, 1969
Trans Love Energies will hold its next rock music concert Sunday in Gallup Park off Geddes Rd., the organization has announced.
Previous Sunday concerts of the group were held in West Park and on a University-owned piece of land on Fuller near the North Campus.
The West Park concert was followed by widespread protest by citizens of that area.
Additional concerts this month are scheduled for June 15 on the Ann Arbor Pioneer High School grounds, on June 22 at the Fuller Rd. site, and on June 29 in West Park.
Several bands including the UP and The Kraack local groups and The Sun and Girls Inc. of Detroit will provide entertainment at Sunday’s concert.
Exact time of the concerts was not announced, but they normally begin at 2 or 3 p.m.
Scheduling of the concerts follows a meeting of Trans Love Energies people with Assistant City Administrator Don Borut.
