Smith's district Monday, with Mr. Kelley, teacher. Mrs. Ed. Campbell enjoyed a visit from her brother one day the first of the week. Mr. Noble and family, of Galesburg, and Mrs. Khodes and family, of Yicksburg, were here several days of last week, visiting their many friends. H. Scadin will spend the coming winter in Florida. He expects to start the middle of this month. F. F. Taylor has sold his hoii3e and lot on Ann Arbor street to Dennis Warner Mr. Drew, of Stockbridge, spent the Sabbatii here. Mrs. Schermerhorn entertained some of her relatives last Friday. Mrs. Shepard Taylor is spending a few days in Unadilla. No school in District No. 3, Dexter township, as they attended the fair, Wednesday. Wm. Voorhis and family were Ann Arbor visitors recently. Mrs. Story son and daughter visited her brother and family, at" the University city, one day last week. Mrs. Colier, of Pinckney, spent the past week with her many friends here. George Sales is home from Ann Arbor, after spending a few days with friends. Mr. Cantield and daughter, of Sylvan, were here on Friday. Messrs. A. Pidd and Edwin Ferris were at the county seat, Thursday. Mrs. R. Smith entertained friends last week. The infant chüd of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Kittleton died last Saturday nioruing of cholera infantum and was buried on Sunday ifternoou. M. Ij. Van Buren has moved his family to Ypsilanti, where they will attend school. James Field, of Alpena, and tonnerly of this place, died at his home in Alpena last Friday morning. He leaves a large number of friends here who will miss him greatly. Rev. II. McConnell, of Leslie, preached in the Baptist church last Sunday moming and evening. James Coutts has taken a position as clerk in Moore's drug store in Ann Arbor. Miss Anna Dolan was called here froin Ann 'Arbor, Sunday, to attend the funeral of lier nephew Mrs. E. Dayis is home, after an extended visit to her sons in the northern part of the state. Chas. Lipscomb, of Jackson, is the guest of bis mother. A. H. Stannard was at Jackson Monday last. Rev. Mr. Blomfield preached in the Congregational church last Sabbath. Mr. Etchler, of Ohio, spent the last of the week in this vicinity. Mrs. M. Kimball, of Detroit, foruierly of this village, has moved to Milford and opened dressmaking parlors. Miss Olga Jedele was entertained by Ann Arbor friends Wednesday. A. Cushimt and wife visited Lima friends Friday. Mr. Monks, of Pinckney, was on our streets last Wednesday. C. B. Alley made a trip to Detroit ón business, Tuesdav. Miss Anna Hughes had the pleasure of entertaining her friend ïhursday and Friday. Mrs. Butler spent Saturday and Sunday near Ilowell. Fred Andrews and chum, of Ann Arbor, spent the Sabbath with lus father. Misses Mattie Palmer and Cora Warren attended Sabbath school at Birkett, last Sabbath. Henry Harris and family, of South Putnam, spent Sunday with her sister. Chas Rockwell and wife, of Fosters, visited tbeir daughter two days of last week. Dr. Warren is home agains Miss Bessie Daley has returned to her school duties in Milan. Chas. Kelly, of Brighton, accorupanied by his wife, visited here last week. L. D. Al!ey and family were guests of her mother in Pinckney, last Saturday. Miss Ettie Waite, of Ann Arbor, spent several days of last week with friends. P. Sloan made a flying tripto Pinckney, Saturday. Mr. Shaw has returned from Vernon, and is at work in the tlouring milis in this village. H. J. Hogers and wife, who reside & in our village at one time, are now located at Hillsdale, where Mrs. Rogers is attending college, studying elocution aud physical culture. tl. L. Cope, of West Branch, made Iris Dexter frienda a short cali. Tuesday. Mis. A. A. Buckalew and Mrs. Henry Warren are eutertaiuing their sister from Ypsilauti. Mrs. M. E. Sill entertained the Willing Workers' society, Wednesday. George Walsh and Uelle Pratt have entered our school. R. Mcfüain is niaking extensive improvements on the property he purchased recently. M. S. Cook is liome from his trip to New York City.
