On Motion, Mr. Clark acted as President pro. tem. The Clerk read snbmitted letter that he had received in answer to inquiries as to eruploying Ann Arbor labor, etc. Mr. Schuil moved that the various offers to builil the lateral sewers in District Xo. 1 and No. 2bereported to the Commoii Council with the recommeudation that the bids of Stevenson, Beid & Co., for constructing lateral sewer in District No. 1, and Herman Hutzel for constructing lateral sewer in District Xo. 2, be accepted. Adopted. The City Engineer submitted plans and eslimates for rebuilding the main sewer along the M. C. R. R. depot, By Mr. Schuh: Resolved, That it is the sense of this Board that the repairing or rebuildiugof themain sewer, as recommended by tlie special sewer conimittee is not advisable nor desirable until a facture thereof demónstrales the necessity for such repairing or rebuilding and then should occasion require,. we recommend the building ot the sewer on the proposed line north of the M. C. R. R. Co. tracks. Adopted as follows: Yeas - Messrs. Keech, Schuh and Clark. By Mr.. Schuh: Whereas, It is the sense of the Board of Public Works that the city is payïng more for its engineering services than is commensurate with the returns therefor, and Whereas, Mr. Cottingham proposes to furnisü a map of the city for the gross sum of $300 in addition to a monthly salary of $100 per month, which salary (per Article4of proposed contract) includes all help, etc, all to becompleted withiu the time speciflecl therein. Therefore, Resolved, That we the Board of Public Works submit letters and contract to the Common Council and request that Honorable Body to recommend the entering into a contract with Mr. Cottingham, substantially as set forth in nis letters and proposed contract. Adopted as follows: Yeas- Messrs. Schuh and Clark. On motion. the Board adiourned. Werk.
