Mckinley
Wm. McKinley, author of the now dead and often McKinley bill, passed through the city last evening and spoke briefly to a large crowd of people, curious to see the reputed author of the defunct tarift' monstrosity. Mr. McKinley is on a presidential candidate's swing around the circle, and crowds collect to see him. He is now doing the character of the Trojan Héctor; but after him cometh the Achules of Maine, Tom Reed, with lance leveled at the Buckeye governor and financial failure. Reed will be here in the students' lecture association course, to nullify the effect of McKinley's visit. The Maine Thomas believes himself the future anointed of the republican party; still, the sight of the Ohio Mordacai in the king's gate annoys him.
