Death On The Drainage Canal
Joliet, Illa., Oct. 23.- One of the most disastrous explosions that has occurred on the drainage canal killed three mea outright and seriously injured three more. Tho explosión took place at Rickor & Loan's camp near Summit. A gang of men was at work putting in a blast when the gunpowder exploded, blowing three men to pieoes. The nanies of tho unfortunate trio cannot be obtained, as when the explosión took place the other men ran for their lives and the dead cannot be identifled. John Smith, Henry Potter and Thomas Collins, who were wounded, were brought to this city. ïhoir recovery is impo.ssiblo, as their flosh in places is so burned that ie is falling off. Another explosión took place at the same camp tho evening betere and two men were killed and one wounded.
