Chicago, Oct. 25 .- Veterans of the Forty-second Illinois volunteers, who coukl not walk erect, were assisted by comrades to the club room of tho Sherman House, where was held the ninth annual meeting of what is left of the oompany of mon who served under the command of Colonel Wil Ham A. Webb and wero known as the "Douglas Brigade." At roUoall but forty-two or forty-throo responded with a "here," although there are 350 living members still on tho list. Many of the veterans canie frem Michigan, Wisconsin and Missouri. At noon today a banquet was given at the Sherman Housu and speeches followed the '"good gheer. "
