PRINCETON, Ky., Nov. 1. - News lias reached here of the lynching of Eddy Mar. cin in Crittenden county by a mob varijusly estimated at from flfty to 100 men. The scène of the lynching is a reinóte part of the county, and the details of the crime are hard to get. The best obtainable informatlon is that Martin was called upon at his home aftur midnight and asked to et up and help put out a ílre that was raging in the neighborhood. Opening the door he was seized by a dozen or more men, whu a-sked for Information of Bill Goode, tho lawless pauper commlssioner of Crittenden county. Ho was also asked about the latter's crimts, and especially that of horse stealing. The mob told him they had como to hang him, but if ho would turn state's vidonce upon Bill Goode he would be spared. "Ii these are the only terms, gentlemen," said he, "lot tho hanging proceod. Bill Goode bas been my friend and I willshield him." The mob quickly did lts work and left the body swaying from a limb upon a lone country road. Goode has been visited three times by a mol), but iscaped cach time. Berry Rich was liung about two weeks ago and the mob made a raid again last week, but failed to iind ;heir men.
