Chicago, Nov. 8.- Practically complete returns front the state Indícate! that tho Republicana wlll have a majotltjof thirtyeight on joint ballot in r,he next Illinois legislature. ín tho senate there are seventeen Demócrata and thirty i'our Republioaus; in the house eighty-seven Republicans, sixty-five Democrats, and one Populist. The vote in Cook county tor state senators shows the eleetion of ten Republicans and two Demócrata; for state representativos twenty-four Rupublicans, twenty-onc Demócrata and one Populist areeleoted. rióme precinets are still missnj, but they will not affect the ïvsult. Chicago, Nov. 9.- The resul t of the eloction in this state is one that the Rcpublicans are feeling veiy joyful over. Chairmau Tanner says he has received returns showing a plurality of 50,000 in the stato and declares that they indícate 125,000 whcn all are in. Thia inay bc too high an estímate, but the plurality wiU be very large. Kor congress in this city it looks like a full dclegntion of Republicana. All seven are claimed and they appear to be clected. There m-e threp the Democrats do not give up, but the Republicans confidontly assert that they have them all. The whole county ticket is elected by pluralities ranging from 15,000 to á0,000 aecording to Democratie flguros and from 24,000 to 48,000 uccording to Republican estimatcs. In the state legislature Tanner claims tho folio wing figures: Senate- Republicans, 30; Democrats, 30; Republican majority, 11. House- Kepublicans, 94; Dcmocracs. 59; Republican majority, 35; Republican majority on joint ballot, 46.
