I Muskogee, I. T„ Nov. 19.- JDeputy Mar áhal McGill and posse have had a fight with three of the Cook gang. One raar, shal was wounded. Cherokeo Bill is reported fatally shot and the other two of the gang arrestad. Chcrokee Bill i the florceet one ot the gang and is one of it.s raain supports. ïho goveniinent has set a price of f250 on his body. United States Attorney Jaokson has received a letter from Bill Cook threatening to kill him if he makes any í'urther attempt to extermínate the gang. The forceof deputles under Deputy United States Marshal McGill, who were equipped by United States Attorney Jackson at his own expense, aiul the citizens hero are loud in their praise of him. His instructions to the men wero to remaln In the field until the gang had b:en eithor killed or captured. It was this focoe that surprised the bandits nnder Cherokee Bill and made the valiant flght roportod above. Cherokeo Bill has not yet been captured, though reports say he surely will le, together with the full forco he has been leadlng. One of the two bandits captured during the flght was brought here by Marshal Cobb. His information from the flghting ground in thut Chcrokee Bill's band is surrounded and oan only escape by fighting their way through the deputles' linos, which it is not believed they can sucoeed in doing. Marslial Cobb believes, however, that there will be another bloody iight.
