Geo. W. Bullis has returned from Chicago. Dr. C. Georg has returned from Elkhart. Mrs. Chas. C. Warner is visiting in Osseo. Mrs. L. Genther has returned from Detroit. Hon. E. F. Mills has returned from Chicago. C. H. Kline was in Hastings last week, on business, Miss Nina Heney, of Chattanooga, is visiting in Ann Arbor. Mrs. Dr. Rockwell has returned from a visit in Plymouth. Mrs. Michael Staebler is recovering from a severe illness. Dr. J. C. Kapp, of Manchester, was in the city, Saturday. J. M. Ashley, of Toledo, was last Thursday a guest at the Cook. Reuben Armbruster has returned from his northern hunting trip. Mr. and Mrs. Sid Millard have returned from a visit in Chicago. H. Kittridge is visiting his daughter, Mrs. Muir, of Grand Rapids. Chas. Neithammer has returned from the northern part of the state. School Commissioner Cavanaugh visited the Saline school last Thursday. Prof. G. J. Choler, of ā€˛Wisconsin, preached in the Church of Christ, Sunday. E. VV. Butler, of Milwaukee, will pass Thanksgiving week with his sister, Mrs. J. L. Babcock. George Blowers, of Kalamazoo, was in the city last week, the guest of his sister-in-law, Miss Florence Sterrett. Mrs. John Williams and daughter Maude, of Mt. Clemens, are visiting at the home of Chas. Spoor, of S. Fifth avenue. E. B. Bushnell, who has been visiting his daughter, Mrs. Geo. H. Pond, has returned to his home in Branch county. James Murnan, clerk of the Cook house, returned Sunday from attending the wedding of his brother, at LeRoy, N. Y. J. C. Ambrose, who lectured in the M. E. church, Sunday evening, was a guest of Judge Noah Cheever while in the city. Sheriff Edwin Wilson, of Lenawee, spent Saturday and Sunday with his daughter and sonin-law,Mr. and Mrs. Farrar, of this city. Mr. O. Gooding, of York, complimented the Argus with a pleasant cali Friday. Mr. Gooding 's 80 years, even combined with democratie defeat, have not dimmed his eye nor discouraged his faith that in two years we will " down them again."
