E. Mills is the director. Mi. Fanny Haller. of Saline, is teaching a very snccessf ui school in the Blaess district, on Lodi plains. The commissii.ner was partieuhti ly interested in her reading classes. She was doing excellent worK. Enrollment, 41. It is the laigest schooi in Uietownsliiji. The scholars are well diilled in theii lessons, and are improving nicely in their books. He has the school well under hand, and the scholars are taking an active interest in their work. Enrollnaent, 4-5. Algebra and other advanced branches are tautht. Mr. Ezra Brokaw is director. District 6, Webster. - This school is in charge of Miss Sarah McCourt. The school is provided with a new dictionary which is agreat hielp to teacher and pupils. DlSTRICT 1), NORTHFIELD- Mr. Elmer E. Latson is hired to teach this school for a term of five inonths. Enrollment. 86. The opening exercises were especially attractive. The recitation in United States History was interesting and the scholars recited well. The school is supplied with a dictionary, 3 scholars in the 8th grade. It is a large school and it has been the wi8h of the school board to assist in all possible ways to make a snccessful school. Mr. Allen Stephens is director, Whitmore Lake. The Hammond School Saline Towxsnir.- Miss Edith Boyden is doing her first work in teaching here. Enrollment, 19. This school is not as large as it was a few vears ago. It iS well equipped with apparatus, has an organ, and a flag, and all the necessary equipments for successsful leiching. The school is progressing nicely. I). D. Monroe is director. Saline.
