China Admits The Inevitable
WASHINGTON, Nov. átt.- China has succumbed to the inevitable, and has sued for peaoe. And her proposals will be prc sented to Japan throughthe United States ministers at P';king and Tokio, thus pronüMng a tenniniition of the war. It ig not punible at this time to learn the tenns of China'a proposición as hamled to Minister Denby, but it is probable that it provides for but twoconcessions - a money indemnity and a relinquishment of suzer ainty over Corea. It is improbable that the flrst tender will be aeceptable to Japan, as such overtures rarcly are, but this proposition will open the way to a counter olfer of torms by Japan through Minister Uun and the negotiations. if guocessfut, and if they follow the usual course, will load flrst to a truce under proper guárante or a preliminary ngreement to wasc hostilities and fiually to the signaturi' of a di'flnite tn-uty of peaoe.
