On the pan of the Dernocracy thls will be a more matter f forin, because their nominóos haven't the ghost of a chance in the running. The logisl ature stands Chus: House - Republicana 92, Demócrata 61; Benate - Republicana 33, Demócrata lf. The Bepublicans will have 'b on joint ballot to the Democrats 70. Already the hotels are beginning to b througed with members, politicians and others interested in the gathering. Chicago is well represented, there belng a strong contingent here whose object is to Secure the caucus nomiuatton of a Chicago man for United States senator instead of Cullorn, who has been at work a week and hus his headquatturs open. W. E. Mason, of Chloago, is here and is keeping open house also, while the other cundidates are Goorgo E. Adams and Editor Medill, of Chicago, and George S. Willits. : For speaker of the house John Meyer, of; Cook county, is credited with most ' strengt h. The senatorial caucus must be held within two weeks of next Wednes , day, but the exact date is not yet known.
