We are ready for spring. Have got ali our ice huuses ftlled. Mrs. L. Reade, mother of Waltei Reade, has been quite ill, but is re covering. George Merrill attended the Far mers' institute at Grass Lake lasi week. Mrs. Bert Moore has been spend ing the past week with her parents in Dexter. L. Green, of Ann Arbor, was hert a few days 'ast week. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert, nee Hattie Bostvvick, of "Detroit, cailed on a nutnber of friends here last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. S. T. Wheeler entertained friends from Hamburg over Sunday. There will be a township spelling matcli at the Church school house Friday evening, Jan. 25. Everyone invited to come, admission, only 10 cents. Robert M. Snyder, one of the pioneers of Michigan, died at his nome last Friday night Jan. i8th. He was boni in New Jersey and :ame to Michigan at an early age with his wife and children. He was ;wice married, his second wife surivinghim. He was 89 years old, ind was well known throughout the :ounty as an old-fashioned Methoiist. His home was the home of iiinisters and religious services were iften held there. Four daughters ind one son were present at their 'ather's funeral. Two sons were ibsent.
