Another One Gone
Senator John W. Watts, of Jackson, representing this district in the state legislature, died at his home in Jackson, Saturday night, of pneumonia, contracted in the recent junketing trip to the upper penĂnsula. Senator Watts was a very popular man. He was born in Jackson county in 1838, held various town offices, was a supervisor for six years and was in the house of representatives of the state legislature for three terms. He had a heavy majority for senator last fall. He leaves a son and three daughters. His death will probably cause a special election in this senatorial district to fill the vacancy.
