Washington, Feb. 18.- Keplying to a resolution of the sonate of the 6th instant as to the kind of inoneys received in exchango for tho United States bonds issued under the refundiug act of 1870 the secretary of the treasury sent a statemenff to the vice president showing the amounts of bonds sold at different times beginning with 1881, the total being $1,395,349,951). Thuy were all paitl for by the buyers in what was equivalent to United States gold eoin, he said.
