Chicago, Feb. í.'8. - Fire destroyed ■ Koostner & Co. 's big machinery plant ou South JulTerson street and halt of the Crane Klevator works, together with half a dozen residonco buildings. Vhn the alarm was sounded the 3J0 girls employed in the building of tho Lancaster Caramol couipany, nearby, broka into a panlc aad rushed down the stairs froin the upper floors. No one was killod. Among the injured, none ot whoni werc fatally hurt, are Etta Goldman, Emma Kusick. Hossio Palzic, and Agnes Mclntyre. These four were Dadly cut and bruised. Altoguther about i dozen were hurt. The loss to Ktiestner & Co. is about 1060,000; to Crane, S80.000; to Friedlander & Brady, knit goods, $ln0,OW, and co variousotlitir flrins and private owners, f78,OüO, pretty wel! insured.
