Wheii ducks have been properly carecí for, they often begin laying as early as January, thongh February is the more usnal time. The eggs from ducks bring nearly doublé the price of hens' eggs in some markets, and as the duck will lay from 100 to 140 eggs she is avery valuable fowl. Iu feeding duoks do not give them too much grain to the exclusión of other foods. Cooked turnips, with a small guantity of ground meat added aud enough ground oats and cornmeal to make the mess palatable, will niake a cheap maal and answor all purposes, but if they are laying well they should be fed three times a day, beginuing early ili the morning. They must have animal food in some form, or they will not lay well. Weak legs indícate not only that the ducks are overfed, but when the quarters are damp they will sometimes get the rheumatism. It is best to allow them to run out for exercise when it can be done, and their quarters should be clean, witb plenty of cut straw on the floor.
