Casualties Of The China-japan War
Washington, April l.- Mr. Matsui, of the Japauesü legación, has received advices f rom which he has compiled a statement of the number killed, wounded and taken prisoners in the several battles of the (Jhina-Japan war. In some cases the killed and wouuded are not given eeprately. The figures are as follows: Japanese killed, 553; wounded, 1,837; killed and wounded (whero figures aro nos given separately), b59. Chinese killed, 7,6yb, Chinese prisoners taken, 1,459; killed umi wounded (not given soparately), 10U. ïhore is no record of the Chinese lost in the naval battle at Hai Yang To, nor in ono of the land engagemoiits. The number of Chinese wounded is not known.
