Slaughter Of Negroes In Texas

HousTOK, April S.- Four young men, all under 20 years of age- Lawrence Reyuolds, J. F. Preston and Bud and Sid Preachor - were drivlng into the city on their return fr om a day's hunt. Aa they passed a group of negroes gome of the latter made jeering reniarks, and upon oue of the boy in the wagon makiug anawer one of the negroes threw a stone which struck oue of the white boys and another negro drew a revolver. The boys opened fire upon tho negroes with Wuichesters, killing two negro men and one woman. Several shots were flred by both sides. The whito men wore arrested and aro now In jail awaitlng the eoroner's investigation. None of the white men were seriously hurt.
