Boston, April sa. - Ex-Champion John L. Suilivan has distinguished himselt' as a life saver. As John was leaving_ his boarding house on Dover street he heard a woman screara in the rear of the house. He ran down the stairway and saw at ouce Ihere was a fire in the kitchen and that Mrs. Margaret Donnelly, the cook, was in danger ot being buincd to death, her clothing having been ignited by blazius fat on the stovo. He quickly wrapped a big mat around the woman and sucoeeded in extinguishing the flre. She was badly burned, but the chances are favorable for her recovery. Sullivan's hands were burned in several places and ho was obliged to oall on a doctor, but the wounds are not serious.
