Tacoma, Wash., Aprilüy. - Five masked men attempted to hold up Northern Pacific train Xo. 2, six miles this side of Cleelum station, which is ninety miles from Tacoma. The plot miscarriod bacause the train ran 1,400 feet after being signalled to stop, instead of 1,000, which the robbers calcuiated on. The railroad officials had knowledgo that the attempt was to be made and had planned a warm reception. Ton men were stationed vrhere the ex press car was to be robbed of Í30.000 sent to pay off the Roslyn miners. When the englne stopped thr cwo robbers who were to board it were oqo scared to run 400 feet to get on. The train accoidingly went ahead. These two men starled across tho bridge, ran into a poio and were taken to Emmettsburg. ïheir names are Hank Harrington and Jack Harrison. The others escaped.
