Chicago, June 3. - The athletic oontest between tho western colleges was won by the Univur&ity of California, the score beingasfollows: California, 35; Michigan, 17; Iowa college, 16; Illinois university, 13; Wisconsin, 12; Chicago, 11; Iowa university, 10; Northwestern, 7; St. Albans, S; Center, Ky., 1; Lake Forest, 1. John V. Crura, oí Iowa City, repeatod his performances of the woek before by running 100 yurds in 10 seconds and 230 yards in 22 ecomls, tying the best previou3 college records iu boch events. Alvin H. Cuiver, Northwestern university, cieared eleven feet in the pole vault, equalling the best mide by n American college. The exeoiuive comimttee of the Western Collegiale assooiMtion voted to declare Captain J. A. Loroy, of Michigan, who won the broad juiup, and F. M. Hall, of Michigan, wto won the shot-put and third placüin the hammer-throw, profesionuls and not enlitled to the points Which they won in the meet.
