The flsh ponds of Aid. Allmendinger in the rear of his residence on West Washington street are again this sunimer in splendid condition. Vaiious varieties of water lillies are growing in the ponds, the great rarity being the Monroe lotus. This is the only place in the country that the lotus has been kuown to propágate and grów outside of Mouroe county In about six weeks its lovely flowers will appear. Aid. Allmendinger has the fish in the ponds so wélï trained that when he puts his hand in the water they will swim right iuto it and he lifts theni out.
