The literary class day exercises were held around the Tappan oak at two o'clock Tuesday. Robert O. Anstin led off with the class history detailiug the experieuces of the 400 who entered lis freshmen, coming from Maine to Oregqn aud from Germauy aud Japan. They returned as sophomores 300 scrong. As juniors tñey were 225 in mrrnber and as seniors 245. The average age of the class is 23, the ages ranging from 30 to 34. Of the graduates 145 are from Miohigau, Illinois boasts of 39, Indiana and Ohio 12 each, New York and Missouri 5 each, The class oration by James S. Haudy proved him a natural born orator and the class poem of Francis P. Diiniels was far above the ordinary. Miss Mabel Colton's class prophecy was full of personal hits, and Richard R. Lyman's brief but wholesome president's address conclucied the class exercises proper.
