Prof. E. N. Bilbie, of Ann Arbor, was the guest of Miss Matie Cobb several days last week. Lawrence Whitlark and mother, of Houey Creek, spent Sunday and Monday with Mr. Hill and family. Mrs. Clarence Carpenter and family spent the Sabbath with her sister in Anderson. Mrs. Matilda Vernam attended the childrens day exercises at the Germán churcli near Chelsea last Sabbath. Mr. Reade and faimly, of Hamburg, spent Sunday with. relati ves. Mr. Teeple, of Pinckney, was here on business Saturday. Campers frorn FowlerviJle, Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor are enjoying the breezes of Portage lake. Nearly two hundred people witnessed the ball game last Saturday at Hudson between the South Webster and Dexter Corks. The Webster boys came out victorious. Wm. Asquith, of Stockbridge, was shaking hands with old friends last Sunday. Mrs. M. Storey entertained friends last Sunday. Mrs. S. Taylor returned to her home iu Stockbridge last week after several weeks visit with friends. Mrs. Carpenter spent last Thursday in Anu Arbor. John Pratt was in Ann Arbor last vreek on business. Mrs. D. Carpenter, of Ann Arbor, 6peut several days last week with her sister here. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Curlett and children speut last Sunday with Pinckney friends. Miss M. Cobb entertained her friends last Sunday. James Taylor, of Ohalaea, speut last Satunlay with Mrs. A. Taylor and family while on his way to Howell to visit. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Placeway, of Hamburg, spent last Thursday ' with friends in this place. Mrs. K. H. Wheeler spent Thursday in Hamburg. Mrs. Clifton Green and Miss Minnie Green were guests of friends in North Webster Friday. Dr. Lee has removed his office to his house. Omar Moore and family of Ann Arbor, have moved on their farm in this town. Prof. and Mrs. Dewitt entertained the graduating class Friday evening. Chas. Rogers, of Podnnk, has repainted his house. Children's day was observed at the E. A. church near Four Mile lake last Sunday afternoon. Miss M. McColl has closed her spring term of school. Mrs. Alfred Daivs is visiting in Ohio. Miss Ada Blomfleld is in Metamora visiting friends. Born to Mr. and Mrs. L. L. James, a son, June lo. J. Granger, wife and son visited friends last week. Frank Van Riper, of Hillsdale, spent the last of the week in this viciniy. Mrs. Wyman is entertaining her mother. Geo. B. Arnold, of Minneapolis, Minn. ,has been visiting his sister, Mrs. G. W. Pratt. L. Smith and family, of Mason, spent Sunday in town. Mrs. Blood ie visiting in Fowlerville and Stockbridge. Miss Rosa Fitzsimmons is home from school for the summer vacaiton. Miss M. S. Clark, of Huntington, Ind. , is home for the summer. Mrs. Wilcox and son, of Onondago, spent last week with relatives. Mrs. M. Litchfield closes the spirng term of school in district number 3 this morning evening Friday with exercises by the scholars.
