Storm Lake, ia., June 27. - The ninth annual meeting of the Iowa Bankors aasociation was called to order promptly by the president, Simon Casady, of Des Moines. President Casady in his opening address spoke plainiy on the duty ot the meeting in the present crisis, advocittinf; aciiou in favor of a gold standard, Siiying thut it was not wise to keep silent, and that all necessary legislation should be asked lor. His remnrks were received with warm appliuise, plainiy showing the temper of th 15 delegates preseut. J. K. Daming, ■Dashier of the Secoud National bank of Dubuque, read a paper on "üola, Silver or Both." He took strong ground that gold always had bi'en and always would be the basis of currency, and said he would only nse silver in a limited uinuunt,and that we had too much coined nnw.
